Tho annual report, >vhich was mainly a review of last season, showed that the union was £50 better in funds than was the case at tho end of the previous year. An insurance scheme for players has now been adopted. The returns of the AVanganui Education Board show that there aro 14,269 scholars in this district, the sexes being almost equally divided. Included in this number are 424 Maori children, receiving instruction at 60 schools. Mr. G. V. His vigorous criticisms of the Government are making an evident impression. Tho Hon. T.
