«• Tho award in tho AVanganui Painters' and Decorators' dispute, based on nn agreement made by tlie Conciliation Council, has been filed with the Clerk of Awards Ths award makes provision for a minimum wage of Is. 3d. per hour, with a right on the . part of an employer to employ. 0110 shop hand for jobbing at a weekly wage of £2 2s. For suburban work, there will be an extra 3d. per day allowed, and for country work an extra Is. per day. Piecowork is prohibited. It is provided that if any employee engages to work for any master painter who is not a member of tho Wanganui Master Painters' Union ho shall notify tho secretary within three days, and shall not continue to work for tho employer if tho latter neglects within one week to join the. Master Painters' Union.
