A Coronation Address. A well-attended and enthusiastic meeting was held yesterday afternoon to consider the proposal to prepare an address from the women of Wellington for presentation to her Majesty the Queen on the occasion of the Coronation. Mrs. K. M'ivet;zie was elected president and Mrs. 1\ Dyer treasurer and. secretary. Tho meeting was entirely in sympathy with the movement and the dralt address was approved. Tho following ladies were appointed the Executive Committee to carry out arrangements: Dr. Platts-Mills, Mesdames Quick, Litchfield, T. G. Macarthy, Salmond, Corliss, A. E. 'Donne, W. H. Field, R. M'Kenzie, and Dyer. It was decided to communicate with other ladies of the Dominion with a view to signatures being obtained to mako the address ono entirely representative of women in New Zealand. Tho order has already been placed, and the address will be forwarded within a month for presentation to Queen Mary by Lady Ward. Signatures were also being obtained at Papawai yesterday of representative chieftamesses of the visiting Maori tribes. , Farewell "At Homes." Mrs. Wallis wishes to see as many of her friends as possible before she leaves for England, and will therefore bo "at home" at Bishopscourt, Kelbume, on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons next week. She is not sending outinvitations, as she is not giving a formal party> Presentation to a Plunket-Nurse. A Timaru Press . Association.. telegram states that the annual report of the Health of Women and Children Society states that Sister Alice, Plunket Nurse, during the year had. 2-18 babies under her care, and paid 497-1-visits to homes, and had 678 visitors at her office. Branches had been carried on in Temuka and Geraldine, and one is to. be started at Pleasant Point. Sister Alice, who is leaving, was presented with a purso of sovereigns with high encomiums as to the value of her work in •" advising mothers on the care of infants and young children. Ladies' Hockey Association, Tho. annual report of the IXdie's' Hockey Associations-states r 'The' affairs of the 'association have now been placed on a satisfactory basis, the rules have boon revised and printed, and the association is now in a position to actively assume the control of ladies' hockey throughout the Dominion. The number of affiliated associations is now twelve, and it is hoped that during the coming year several other associations will come under the jurisdiction of this association. Tho committee wishes to,draw the attention of affiliated associations to the rule forbidding the playing of matches with unaffiliated associations. The annual tournamont was held in Nelson and great credit is due to the committeo of the Nelson Association for the- most satisfactory results, financial and otherwise. Congratulations are due to the Hawke's Bay representative team, for successfully defending their title to the championship of New Zealand. The. thanks-of the association are sincerely tendered to Mrs. Rhodes, who presented two handsome trophies for, competition at the tournament, these trophies being won by Miss Smith, of the Hawke's Bay representative learn, and by Miss Collier, of the Wanganui .representative team; to Mrs. Culling, Mcssr,=. King and Buchanan for donations, and to the Young Men's Christian Association and Mr. J. D. M. M'lntyre for the use of comniitteo rooms. During the year eight committee meetings were held, at which the attendance was as follows:—Miss MacKollar. 7; Miss fleet. 7; Miss B; Miss Wilberg, (i; Miss Wilson, 7: Miss Roberta 4; Miss Kelling, 3: Mi?<= Shirtcliffe, 0: Miss Mellsop, 8. The financial condition of the - association Is most satisfactory, there being a credit balance of '.£29 135.-7 d. On Tuesday afternoon next tho. annual statutory meeting of the Hospital Convalescent Home, the Wellington Ladies' Christian Association, and the Wellington Society for Relief of Aged Needy will be hold. All three meetings are to take place in the Chamber of Commerce. When at Adelaide last week, Mrs. Seddon and Misses Mary and Rnbi Seddon were the guests of the Chief Justice of South Australia. Miss Alico Whittem leaves for a trip to England by the Ruahine on April 6. - Mrs. Grace gave a very enjoyable dance in her .homo, last evening. ■Mrs. Aylwin and her children leave foi Melbourne, where Mr. Aylwin is stationed, on April 21. Among the visitors to Papawai yesterday were General and Mrs. Godley. and the Hon. Joan Dickson-Poynder. The engagement is announced of Miss E. M. Knight, daughter of Mr. I. Knight, 1 of "R«wa Hun;" Palmcrst'on North, tc Mr. Walter G. Stratford, of Woodside, 3 Greytown North. 3
