PICTURE ENTERPRISE.
The Greater J. D. Williams Amusement Company, Ltd., is the title of a firm which plays a prominent part in the moving-picture business in Australia, but beyond sending oyer films to tome of tho theatres in this country, it has not yet paid special attention to New| Zealand. This is, however, now to be done.- Visiting Wellington at the present time are Mr. Leon Phillips, treasurer and director of the company and manager of the Colonial Theatres, Syduey, Mr. C. W. Williams (brother of Mr. J. D. Williams, tho head of the firm), who will be manager in New Zealand for a time, and Mr. E. Linton, a member of a well-known Manawatu family of that name, who has been residing in Sydney for tho past thirteen years. All are concerned in the establishment of the Williams kinematograph supply business in New Zealand. They have secured offices in Fowlds's building, Manners Street, from which they will issue weekly programmes of the highest grade to all parts of the Dominion. In conversation with Mr. Phillips, a Dominion represenlative learned that the Williams Company were quite ready to start doing business with the picture show people. For (lie present they do not. propose to go into tho show business in Wellington or elsewhere— that may come later—but Ihey intend to supply proprietors with pictures they can rely upon to please Iho public.
