A tn.i therefore'play the Manawatu Clubs team for the cliampiinship of the coast. OTAKI. , The annual general meeting o { tho Otaki Golf. Club was held on Saturday evening, Mr. W. H. Simcox presiding. The annual report was considered satisfactory, but some discussion tcok place on the balance-sheet. It appeared that many members' subscriptions were unpaid, these arrears amounting to J033. The following _ were elected officers:—President, Mr. \V. H. Simcox; cantain, Mr. R. C. Kirk; secriv tarv, Mr. Martin Simcox: treasurer.,. Mr. S. 'Simcox; committee, Messrs. Brown, Podeviu, and Bacchus; Match Committee, Mr. Bacchus, captain, and secretary; Catering Committee, Misdames St. GeorgeSimcox, and Bacchus. It was decided to hold a tournament at a time to bo arranged by the committee, and also to open tho season on Aoril 8. It was decided to accept the Hutt Club's challenge for June 3, and to rilav a return match on July 22. .Misses Wellwood and TraverS, the wellknown tennis players, are at present or a, visit here, and, on Saturday, took part in games on the local courts. On Saturday next the Paraoaraumu and Otnki lawn tennis representatives meet at Otalci, when tho local club will bo represented by Tahiwi, Penn, and Nicolson, Misses Elder and O'Rourke, Mesdames Bacchus and Bright. Among visitors to Otaki on Stindaj were Br. and Mrs. Clay, of Wellington, and former residents oi Otaki. Pry, hot, and dusty weather is the order of the day, and moisture is badly needed.
