PETONE ROWING CLUB.

The Junior Handicap Single Sculls, for a gold medal presented by slr. J. Canty, was rowed 011 Saturday afternoon bv crews from the Petone Rowing Club. Results:—First heat: P. AVhitiey defeated S. Marsden by half a length. Stcond heat: AV.' Hume beat H. Adaiuson by three lengths. Third heat: AV. Clapliam beat ,T. AVilson by two lengths. Fourth heat: ,r. Annan beat P. Brunette by two lengths. Semi-final: AA r . Hume bs'at J. AA : hitley by four lengths; J. Annan beat AA T . Clapham by a length. The race between Hume and AA'hitley was an excellent one, and quite the best event of tho day, The final will bo rowed during the week. The Mothes Pairs' event will be got off next Saturday, and the club will then close for the season.
