HERETAUNGA BOATING CLUB.
The Herefaunga Boating Club got off two races on Saturday, one for the A Class and one. for the B Class. The B Class entrants were sent away first, getting off at 3 p.m. Five boats competed, namely, slarguerita, Runa, Gil Bias, Hinau, and Wai-iti. The event was the second in a series of three for tlie Thorndon Dinghy Sailing Club's Challaige Cup. Wai-iti was first on her time' allowance, although Runa crossed the line before her. Marguerita had the misfortune to carry away her rudder, and so had to retire early in the race. The, final for this cup should now prove very interesting. The times 011 Saturdav were as follow:—Marguerita (scr.), did'not finish; Runa (3min.). llir. Omin. 23sec.i Gil Bias (6niin.). Ihr. 1-lmin. 255.ee.; Hinau (Smin.), lhr. 7/nin. 13sec.; Wai-iti (15minJ, llir. • r imin. losec. A Class was represented by Ruby, Tom Wilford, Bronzewing, Huia, and Sn'rav. A start was effected at 3.15 p.m., and the race resulted in a win for Huia. 011 her timo allowance, by' one s-ccond from Bronzewing (also on time allowance).
