Complaints havo frequently been made of tho shortage of railway trucks at Htmtly, and it is now reported that tho present supply is inadequate. Mr. W. J. Ralph, a director of tho Taupiri Coal Company, states that the position at Huntly is now very acute, and tho necessity for moro trucks is being keenly felt by the company. On four days last week, he said, work had to bo suspended at two o'clock in the afternoon as there were not sufficient trucks available to keep the men employed throughout tho day. Mr. Ralph added that people were now getting in their winter supply of coal, but the company was considerably handicapped in fulfilling orders owing to the lack of facilities.
