WELLINGTON PRESBYTERY.

The Wellington Presbytery held its monthly meeting in St. John's Church yesterday morning. There was a large attendance, tho Rev. A. T. Thompson, Moderator, presiding. The Rev. i\ B. Eraser, who wes recently appointed by the Assembly to superintend homo mission work, was present, and on the motion of tho Rev. J. K. Elliott was heartily welcomed and associated with the Prcsbvterv. Dr. Gibb stated that the Church Extension Committee had arranged a plan of work for Mr. Eraser. Ho will first visit the various Presbyteries, and thereafter commence organising work in the Wnikato Presbytery. Mr. Eraser thanked tho Presbytery for their welcome, and spoko briefly of his plans, stating that it was his hope to be a living medium between the Church Extension Committee and the field.

Arrangements are to be mado for the due celebration of the tercentenary of tho publication of the Authorised Version of the Scriptures on April 30. It was agreed to abandon the scheme for a joint advertisement of tho Sabbath services, owing to the failure to secure unanimous co-operation among the congregations concerned. The Rev. G. K. Stowell introduced the remit from the Assembly concerning tho definition of the boundaries of charges, and' the transference of members from one district to another. On the motion. of Mr. Aitken, it was decided to refer tho matter to a committee for further consideration. . - ■

On behalf of the' Evangelistic' Committee, the Rev. W. Comrio reported that the Rev. Mr. Pattison commences a mission in St. James's shortly, but that thereafter he will be engaged continuously till November, and will not bo availablo for further work in this Presbytery till after that date; Further, that in view of the visit of Dr. Chapman in 1912, it would bo unwise, to. arrange large missions during that-year, "but that congregations bo left freo to make any arrangements thev desire..

After a long discussion it was resolved that the Presbytery recognise Seatoun as a preaching station, looking forward to being made a home mission charge, and that the station be placed uiiSir the care of the Evans Bay session, with the Rev. W. Douglas as Moderator.

Satisfactory, reports were received from the home mission charges of Upper Hutt, Wadestown, Pongaroa, Ron a Bay, Plimmcrton, and Eketahuna, and appreciation was expressed of their condition. , It was decided to pay the usual visitation to St. James's, Newtown, and a commission was. appointed for the purpose.

Tlie Rev.. J. M'Caw applied for a diploma for long service -in Sunday School work in" "the" case of Mr. . Wm. Shand, and the request was granted.
