WESLEYANS' HOME.
Tlio groat building at Westminster which is to bo the headquarters of Wesleyan Methodism is gradually approaching completion. Even now it ia possiblo to see what a noble addition the new pile will be to the buildings of Westminster. Erected on ail island site, it commands Broad Sanctuary on one side, and Tothill Street on the other. The architecture is in the style of the Renaissance. and the employment of many pillars and a generous scheme of monumental ornamentation add to the imposing effect.
"We are not hurrying the work, for there is plenty of time, and we wish' the building to be worthy of Wesleyan Methodism and of Westminster," said an official of the Wesleyan Connexional Fund Office. "So far as the exterior walls are. concerned the work is 'practically finished, but the placing of the dome and the inferior decorations will take a considerable time.''
It is desired that the large hall, whicl>> is to be the principal feature of the building, shall have the best acoustic properties, for it is the intention to hold many musical gatherings there. About 2oofl people will be provided with seats in the body of the hall, and another 400 will be accommodated 011 the platform. In addition, there will ho a smaller hall, seating some •'>oo persons, and yet another fine apartment will accommodate the Allan Library of Theological Literature. The question of providing a restaurant is as vet undecided.
