He asserted that Canada 8 trado was certain to benefit by it, and ridiculed tho possibility of annexation by tho United States, assorting that Canada was sufficiently satisfied with her placo within the Empire as to dosiro to maintain it. , Sir Wilfrid Lauricr added that ■ho hoped that pcaoo would ever exist between Great Britain and the United States. Canadian reciprocity would be an aid towards 6uch an end.
