TO BE CUT UP AFTER ALL.
PALMERSTON' NATIVE RESERVES. . (By Telegrabh."— Special' Correspondent.! Palmerston, March 8. Some time ago the Borough Council suggested to tho Public Trustee that. tho Native reserves' in the borough should be cut up into building sections and leased on long terms. This was backed up bv a. deputation from the council, which pointed out that these reserves, which ran into many acres, were retarding tho progress of the town in many directions. To-day, the Public Trustee, accompanied by tho Mayor (Mr. J. A. Nash) and Mr. D. Buick, M.P., paid a visit to tiifl reserves in question, and, after satisfying himself that tho request of tho Borough Council was perfectly valid and reasonable, he has consented to the proposals of tho council, and steps will be taken to have tho reserves cut up.
