, A;i advertisement appearing in this issue gives notice of the dispersal sale of stud Border Lniccstcr sheep, Shorthorn cattle, Clydesdale horses, and plant to be hold at Pere Bush Homestead, near Titirca, Southland, on Wednesday, March 1">. Messrs. Carsivell Bros.' stock are well known, and for a number of years numerous valued prizes have been won by them hu the show rings. The stud was established forty years ago by the late Mr. H. Carsvvell. Special train and drag arrangement? have been made Tor the convenience of those' who attend the sale.
A rovieiv of England's imports during 1010, .published in ■ the "Live Stock Journal," shows that the quantity of fresh besf imported exceeded that of 1909 by 87i,97Gcwt., and fresh mutton by Gl4,lßScwt. On tho other hand there were decreases of bacon to the extent of 762,074cwt., and of "hams to the extent of 40!),908cwt. Taking an estimate by weight, live cattle imnorted showed a falling-off equal to about G36,597c\vt. ■
