Taverner, gave a. reception at tho Trocadero to Sir John Fuller (who succeeds Sir T. Gibson-Carmichael as Governor of Victoria) and Lady Fuller. There were 400 guests present, including the Australian Agents-General and their wives. Sir William Hall-Jones (High Commissioner for New Zealand), Sir Reginald Talbot (an ex-Governor of Victoria), Mr. L. C. Maekinnon (one of the proprietors of the Melbourne "Argus"), Sir R. D. Awdry, Sir, Charles Lucas (of the Colonial OfDco), Mr. "Wellington (private secretary to the Queen, ,and one timo private secretary to tho Governor-General of Australia), and many Victorians.
