There was a largo attendance'of buyers at the opening sale at Solway to-day by the Associated Auctioneers. Tho entry of stock was one of the largest ever seen in tho district, over 20,000 sheep and 1000 cattle beiiig in the yards. Prices for goad classes ruled high, bat, for poorer lots, there was little demand. Mr. Charles Vivian Yates, son of Mr. G. H. Yates, was married in St. Matthew's Church to-day to Miss Hilda Berry, daughter of Mr. J. H. Berry,-of this town. Considerable anxiety is being felt concerning tho new railway time-table which the .Minister for Railways announced (nearly a month ago) wonld be ready in a week. Tho annual carnival in connection with the Wairarapa Ladies' Association is to be held to-morrow. ' - • ■
