(I'rora Our Special Correspondent.) .'.y. Tho' annual general meeting of the Hiuemoa. Social Club was held in ' thei Drill Hall, Petone, last evening. Mr. Griffiths occupied the chair. Tho report and balance-sheet were adopted. Owing to the lack .of enthusiasm, bn tho part of members, it was decided to disband. A vote of * thanks ..was accorded the, secretary (Mr. L. Mitchell) fflr past services. Last evening on the Petone Recreation Ground, the l'etone Junior Club held another of its series of evening sports meetings. -The results are as tollow:— 440 yds. Handicap—Howe,. 43yds., 1; -Bold, 22yds., 2; E. Price, 33yds., 3. St. Davids Handicap (440yds.)—Lowry, 25yds., 1; Jowett, 40yds., 2; Thomson, 12yds., 3. Schoolboys', 440ydsl- Handicap—Davis, 1. A sitting of, the Lower' Hutt Police Court was held yesterday morning, before Messrs. Chapman, "Wilkin;' and Cud-' by, Justices of tho Peace. A number of offenders were /dealt with for riding bicycles at night without lights, and'for riding along public footpaths. Those fined ss. and costs 7s. for riding cycles without lights were: J. 11. Brown, Thomas Slimm, H. E. AVinder, A. Tomlin.. The following were fined 10s.'with costs 7s. for similar offences: Henry Archer, Robert Doiiochue,, John Patrick Delahunty,. and George Lusty. Por riding cycles on public footpaths, Otto Lepper and Donald Dunford were each fined ss. with court costs 75., ill default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. The following were finetf 10s., ccits 75. ; for driving vehicles with-', -rout lights, at night:—AV..Rush, A. King-: ston,, J. Coutrick, and Stewart M'Lelland. ,CliviLi Cases:j;Thgma? .Burt v. R. Sir. and Mrs. Kibblewhite and family, of Petoue, intend shortly 'to take up residence at Hamilton. Prior to their departure they were tendered a farewell "social" by members of the local Methodist congregation.' Mrs. Kib'olewhit# was presented with a silver teapot and Miss Kibblewhite with a silver-backed hairbrush and comb in recognition of their services as church workers. The Petoua members of the Church of England Men's Society entertained their friends at a very successful "social" on Tuesday evening in St. Augustine's Hall.
