SOL WAY STOCK SALES.

Messrs. ' Abraham and 'Williams, Ltd;, report on the opening, sale at Solway Yards yesterday as follows:—The total entry of tho associated firms must have exceeded 20.CC0 sheep and ICOO head- of cattle. Our entry; consisted of 10, COO sheep and over five hundred cattle. Although the generally expressed opinion was that tho yards wore too large, yesterday taxed them to their utmost.capacity, and several lines arriving late were unable to 'be drafted. The quality of' the cattle right through was good, a large entry of wellgrown bullocks in: forward condition being submitted, which'met with a ready'sale at prices considerably in excess of vendors' anticipations. . On the whole, the Brancepeth beef was greatly, admired, comprising 50 well-bred properly-finished bullocks, which after keen competition realised £9 lCs. to £10 Us. Several very good station lines of sheep were offered, including a particularly attractive line by Mr. Strang, of Glenside Station. These made the satisfactory price 0f163. 3d. to 16s. lid. The usual cull lines offering Et this time of the year were prominent, but the bulk sold at' satisfactory prices to the vendors, and nractirally the whole of our entry changed hands at auction. Tho attendance was exceptionally large, including many buyers from, n distance, and tho sale may bo summed up as mast satisfactory.
