CHARTERED FOR CORONATION. The New Zealand Shipping Company's old steamer Papanui—now theirs no longer—is having a varied carcer. It will be remembered that this vessel struck a rock sis miles to the west of Waterliouse Island, Bass Strait, in' December, 1900.' She was placed in dock in Melbourne, when it was found that her plates on both sides had been damaged for a distance of 250 ft. Theso were patched up, and tho vessel was subsequently' sold. She lay at hnchor off Port Melbourne for some'months, and then, suddenly, without papers or pilot, she left for Japan. This was three or four months ago. By yesterday's mail camo tho news that the vessel had been chartered to como to Melbourne— there to be fitted out to tako Coronation trippers to London. All tho nccommodation is to be of ono class. The Papanui is timed to leave Sydney on April G and Melbourne on April 15. ,
