Following on the inspection carried outlast week, the Public Works Department has certified that the Karori extension tramline, from the cemetery to the Borough Council offices, satisfies the Government requirements. The line '• was formally opened for traffic yesterday, a car being run back and forward over the new section to connect with cars of the regular,Knrori service as they arrived at the late terminus. To-day and, hereafter the. cars which run from the city to Karori every twenty minutes, and at tenminute intervals during rush hours, will continue their journey to the borough offices. As previously stated, the fare over the new section will be one penny.'
