(From Our Special Correspondent.) Tho monthly sitting of the Petono Magistrate's Court was. held yesterday 'morning, beforo Dr. • M'Arthur, S.M. On a charge of drunkenness, Henry Griffiths was convicted and fined 55., in default 21 hours' imprisonment. A fine of lis., in default seven days in gaol, was imposed upon Arthur Giuioit for a breach of a prohibition order. Robert Carnick was convicted and fined 205., with an option of seven days in gaol, for being drunk in Jacksjn Street on February 11. On a second clnr.;e, h breach of a. prohibition order, Gi.<ni:k was convicted and fined 205., in default 14 days' imprisonment. ' John Maxwell, for allowing two bt.vses to wander, was convicted anil fined 10s. In a maintenance case, Kate Stowell v. Alec. A. Stowell, tho defendant applied for variation of order that he should ray 10s. weekly for the maintenance of Lis wife. The application was refused.
