The police arc continnins their inquiries to endeavour to discover if tho deceased purchased prussic ■acid recently. No trace of tho woman's hat has yet been found. I his morning a wild rumour to the effect that two men had been. arrested by the police was circulated about tho "to lJUt.it: was absolutely unfounded. ' c mP 0 ICC , a, '° bombarded with a fusillade of theories by amateur and pnyatq detectives. The latter aro stated to ba already hampering tho police,' and the detective force in its investigations by unwarranted ami needless intcrference. Iho police have received the usual crop of letters from neurotic persons, who say they dreamt all about tho occurrence and give particulars of detail which W isted only 111 their own imaginative brains. It is almost certain that tho matter as tar as the inquest is concerned will bo concluded oh Friday. Sadler will rive evidence,-and the police will probably adduce a few additional ■ facts, y .
