Tamaki, was bathing alone in St. John's Lnka on Sunday afternoon. He ■ dived from a boat, which lie was unable to rsach again, and, becoming exhausted, was drowned. Moore was observed by a man from the further shore of the lake, but no boat was handy, and before any help could bo extended the lad had disappeared. The youth resided with his mother in Albauy Road, Ponsonby. seized wrrn cramp. Christchurch, December 12. Robert White, cged thirteen years, was drowned in a waterhole in tho'Waimakariri River bed yesterday. He was bathing at the hole, . which was fairly deep, and was .apparently seized with cramp. His parents reside at Belfast. CHILD'S SEVERE FALL. Hokitika, December 12. The five-year-old son of Mr. Thomas O'Neill, of Rimu, fell over an old raining face at Rimu on Saturday afternoon, a distance of thirty feet, on to the rocks below, and sustained injuries to his head. Both of his arms were broken, the risht one badly. The sufferer was removed' to the hospital where his condition is said to bo satisfactory, considering the seriousness of his injuries.
