LABOUR DISPUTES.
ADELAIDE TRANSPORT WORKERS. By Teleeraph—Press Association-OopyriElit Adolaide/December 12. At a large meeting of transport workers held yesterday, it was decided to adhere to the decision to strike for an eight hours day and wage of eight shillings. It was reported-that nine small firms had granted the demands. It is expected that fully two thousand men will come out to-day. STRIKE BEGINS. (Rec. December 13, 0.10 a.m.) Adelaide, December 12. The transport workers' sfcriko commenced this morning. Soino sixty nianufacturing'firms conceded the men's demands, and about three hundred men resumed on tho new terms. Two thousand remain out. ' The strikers havo induced a number of nou-uuionists to desert their carts. VICTORIAN RAILWAY TROUBLE. Melbourne, December 12. There is dissatisfaction omongst tho railway men in Victoria. A big meeting in Melbourne and gatherings in the country centres havo adopted resolutions in favour of an eight-hour day, with eight shillings as the minimum wago for all adult workers. «
