Sir James Mills, managing director of the Union Company, has 'written to Mr. Hughes, the Acting-Prime Minister, stating that he is willing to consult tho Federal Government at any time with reference to the Vancouver mail service contract, but it will bo inconvenient'to him if the matter is delayed till tho end of January. It is probable, however, that nothing will bo dono before that date.
