MUNICIPAL MEAT SUPPLY.
- AN INCREASED REVENUE. , Below are given particulars of operations and revenue at the Municipal Abattoirs during November:—Stock . slaughtered: Cows, 30; bullocks and heifers, 471; sheep, 3771; lambs, 1174; calves, 59. Of this number C cows, 13 bullocks, and 19 sheep were condemned as unfit for human consumption. The fees amounted to £135,.an increase of £45 compared with, the previous. month. The meat export slaughterhouses contributed fees amounting to .£132 for meat sold within the city. This is- a- decrease of <£48 on. the previous month. The amount derived from sale of offal'-and rnimers was £112 125., an increase of ,£4O 10s. on. October. The total revenue for the month amounted to ,£3DO being an increase of .£3B 7s. lid. Tho total increaso in number of stock slaughtered for tho month as compared with October was 163 cattle, 996 sheep, Gl2 lambs;- arid 33 calves. "The stock slaughtered at the abattoir for the month," says the manager in his report to the committee, "was of very prime quality, the larger portion being.ox beef.".
