GIFT FLAGS FOR HOME SCHOOLS.
. THE WELLINGTON EFFORT. Some time ago the Wellington Education Board was addressed by the secretary of the British Empire League.in Australia with a view to the exchange of flags between schools of Wellington, New Zealand, and those of towns of the same name in. England. On inquiry it was found that there were two towns of ,that name in England, one in Somerset and one in Shropshire. The Education Board referred the matter to the Wellington Headmasters' Association, ■ and. 'that body undertook to provide thenecessary flags. The headmasters in due courso forwarded the flags, each enclosed in a specially-made box of New Zealand woods, to the local educationauthorities.in England, and in due course the flags will be presented with fitting ceremony. The secretary of the Wellington Education Board (Mr. G. L. Stewart) has now received intimation from Mr. E. S. Sniithurst, hon. secretary of the. in Australia, that exchange flags will be provided rind forwarded from England. These flags irill, no doubt, be presented on some fitting occasion on their arrival in Wellington. \
