ALLEGED LIBEL.
— » - MR. MASSEY CLAIMS £2000. Under instructions from Mr. W. E. ' Massey, M.P., a writ was served on Saturday morning upon the "New Zealand Times" .Companj', Ltd., by Messrs. Bell, Gully, Bel], and Myers, claiming £2000 damages for a libel alleged to be contained in a cartoon published in the "New Zealand Times" of that date. The complaint is mainly to the effect that tho cartoon is alleged to convey an innuendo connecting Mr. Massoy* with tho distribution of a pamphlet' which was recently a subject of discus-' - sion in Parliament.
