THEFTS OF JEWELLERY.
TWO SUSPECTS TAKEN. (By Tclccrapb.—Press Association.) Christchurch, November 27. On November 8 the. house of Mr. W. ■Eewell, of Rolleston Street, Linwood, Tvas entered, mid jewellery to the value ■q£ £23 10s. was stolen. Thefts of jewolssry to the extent of about £50 have ?Jso been made from the residence of Mr. B. M. Martin, officer in charge of the telegraph office at Christchurch. As the result of investigations made by Detectives Gibson and M'Leod, two men were arrested on Saturday afternoon on a chargo of having entered the two houses and stolen tho jewellery missing therefrom. In their possession .was found a quantity of jewellery, including a gold chain bangle, a gold muff chain, and a gold-mounted greenstono pendant, the property of Mr. and Mrs. Martin, and a gold bangle and gold chain with a pendant, the property of Mrs. Sewell. A number of rings and other small trinkets were also found in possession of tho men when , arrested. .
