MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

(Before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.) Geo. Herhtft Conroy was charged tftat on November 24 he brolio h'lto the dwcllinghouse of Abraham" Myers, in Majoribanks Street, and stole therefrom a bicycle and sundry other articles of a total value of £13, the property o£ Abraham Myers and Archer Douglas. . Chief-Dcteetive Broberg, in applying for a remand, stated that it was likely that other charges would he preferred against tho accused. A remand till December 2 was granted. For, using threatening behaviour in Dixon Street, Robert Burnsido. and Harry Bowles -were each fined 405., with witness's, expenses 3s'., in default seven days' imprisonment. The same two accused were charged with wilfully damaging a window valued at £1, the proporty of Alexander Hill, but after hearing the evidence the Magistrate held that tho charge must be dismissed. Cecilia Smith, alias M'lntosh, appeared on remand on a charge of drunkenness, and was convicted and discharged, on condition that she left for Auckland the samo day. A first-<>ffending inebriate, who did not appear, was fined 10s., in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. Another was fined 55., with the same alternative, and a third was ordered to pay 7s. 6d: medical expenses, in default forty-eight hours' imprisonment.
