HUTT VALLEY RIFLES.
After parade on Wednesday night the Hutt Valley liifles held a. "social " at" which Captain Ross took tho opportunity of presenting Lieutenant Slipper (who is about to leave, tho district) with a handsome oak smoker's and liqueur cabinet Colour-Sergeant Cooper, on behalf of tho non-commissioned officers and men, expressed deep regret which- tho company felt at losing so efficient an officer.
