The following havo been nominated, for tho board of directors: Anglican: TheiMayor (Mr. J. A. Miller), Dr M'Kibbin, and Mr. R. Gardiner. Presbyterians: Messrs. T. J. Thompson and E. T. James. Methodists: Messrs H A.. IS. Hurley, T.'Collins, alid C. g' Cunnold.: Baptists: Messrs. W. Turner' M. W. Lascelles, and H.; E. Wright. Other-sects: Mr. M. Mason (secretary' and Mr. W. G. Turner. . y;, A movement is on foot to establish a casualty hospital for tho town. . At tho present time .the nearest public hospital is at Napier, twelve miles away. Air.; G.:P. Donnelly has mado ah alternative offer of a site or. of a donation of £500, on condition that five others coutributo £250 each.
