PROVINCIAL NAVY LEAGTSEBS. f— , . . ■ Yesterday two' hundred toys and girls, s members of tile Palmerston North branch l of the' Navy League,' arrived in Wellington, and in the afternoon paid a visit t of inspection to 11.U.5. Powerful. The i children .were conveyed to the flagship s in her own boats, and*arriving aboard - in the early afternoon spent a couple of s happy hours in viewing the- many ina teresting features of the big man-of-war. . The bluejackets and .. marines of the 5 Powerful were most kind arid attentive to l their youthful guests, escorting them all over the ship, and freely explaining the guns and other appliances that attracted their notice. Hearty cheers weTe exj changed by tho ship's company ant} the departing Navy Leaguers as the latter I loft the ship on their return shoreward, f Tho visitors left by train for Palmerston j last evening. f. To-day a thousand visitors, a.majority of whom are members of tho -Navy League, will arrive by special train from j Masterton at 12.45 jp.m. _ The Navy League' members will fall in -and march r down to tho wharf, whence they will be conveyed to the flagship. The flag captain has kindly arranged to provide j guides, who will conduct parties ■of visitors round- the ship.. i. On their return from tho .warship, the visitors will view a fire brigade display. At 5.30 p.m. his Excellency tho Governori will address members of the Navy League £ at the Seamen's Mission Hall. Tho return train leaves for Masterton'at 6.7 p.m..!
