Primo weighty oxen sold at £10 to £10 55.:. medium ox, £9 7s. 6d. to £9 12s. 6d.; light, £8 12s. 6d.; vealers, 18s. 6d. to 2Gs. 6d.; extra heavy shorn -wethers brought 18s.j good shorn wethers, 16s. 6d.; prime shorn ewes, 15s. 6d. to 15s. Sd.; medium, 14s. 2d. to 14s. fid.; extra prime heavy woolly ewes. 255. 6t1.; plain woolly ewes, 19s. 5d.; plain woolly wethers, 17s. fid. .to 205.; prime lambs, 13s. fid. to 14s. 4d.; good lambs, Us. 6d. to 12s. M.Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having, held their usual fortnightly sale j in the Masterton (Waipoua) yards yesterday, when the yarding was well'up to advertised numbers. Although a good rain had fallen in Masterton for the last two days, competition was not as keen as was expected by vendors, so naturally a fair proportion of the yarding was passed in, . not bringing the reserves. Quotations are as follow:—Hoggets (real good condition), 13s. Bd. to 14s. 2d.; an exceedingly good line of wether hoggets brought up to 175.; f;m. ewes. Bs. 9d. to 10s. 3d.; four-tooth to f.m. ewes, 15s. ad.; four-tooth fat and forward wethers to 19s. 3d.; fifteen to eighteen-months dairy heifers, £3 15s. to £4 Is.; two and three-year-old steers, £4 Bs., £4 165., to £5 75.; three and four-year-old steers, £5 55., £5' 155., £6 75.. to £6 Bs.; twelve ta fifteen-months steers, £2 ss„ £2 125., £2 155... £3 5e., to £3 75.; springing heifers, £3 15s. to £4 25.; twelve to flf-tecn-mont-hs heifers, £2 17s. to £3 Is. Fat and fonward cows sold at £4 ss. to £4 155.; empty cows,' £3 Bs., £3 10s.. to £3 12a. Bulls wero in good demand, and brought £3 10s., £4 55., £4 155., £5 155., £7 2s. 6d., to £8 Bs. Slips realised from 12s. to- 13s. At their usual monthly sale at Kaumai on Tuesday, November 15, Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., had a good yarding of cattle, tho whole of which, with the exception.of a few odd lots, were disposed of at prices as below:—Store cows, £3 55.: cows and calves, £3 145.; heifers and calves, £4 Is.; fat cows, £4 195., £4 18s. 6d., to £5 13«.; springing heifers, £3 .18s.; yearling heifers, £2:195.; yearling steers, £2 7s. 6d. to, £2 16s. 6d.; small, 375. 6d. to £2 2s. 6d.; three-year steers, £5 7s. 6d.; and bulls, £2 10s. to £3 10s. ADBINQTON STOCK MARKET. (By Telegraph.—l'ress Association.) Christchurch, November 16. / At the Addington yards to-day there wero fairly largo entries of stock, and in view of its being tho first sale sinco the opening of the freezing works there was a largo attendance of farmers interested in the fat sheep and lamb salos. There was a keen demand for both fat wethers and lambs for export, in order to take advantage of the winter rates and to fill space engaged in tho Arawa, tho first steamer ioading the new season's frozen meat. The recent rain was a subject of congratulation, and a better tone naturally pervaded the market for nearly all classes of stock. Fat cattle showed practically no change. Store sheep wero rather firmer,, and fat sheep and lambs made a sharp advance in pricc, owing to tho operations of exporters. Figs of all classes were easier. '■ Thcro was a moderate ■ entry of store sheep of 'all clashes, and they met with an improved demand, and all lines changed hands at a slight advance on late rates. Four and six-tooth wethers in the wool made 13s. sd. to 14s. 7d.; shorn, 12s. Bd. to 13s. 5d.; shorn two-tooth wethers, Bs. 6d. to ICe.; and small 75.. 6d. Shorn four and six-tooth ewes with lambs sold at Bs. lid.: aged and cull sorts, ss. Id. to ss. Ud.; four, six and eight-tooth cwe3. 95.; two-tooths. 125.; woolly ewes with lambs, 9a. 3d.; and woolly wether hoggets, 13s. Id.
There were about 1500 fat lambs penned, a good proportion being of prime quality. Ihe market opened at the previous sale's rates, but when the exporters began to operate there was an advance of about 2s. per head. The prices paid for export were 14s. Id. to 18s. 9d., and butchers' lots made 9s. 6d. to 175., according to sizo and duality. Over ICCO lambs were taken for export. There was a large entry of fat sheep, including a considerable proportion of prime wethers, which had been held back pending the opening of the export season. The operations of the export buyers caused an advance of fully - Is. per head m wethers, and two West Coast buyers were also in the market and took about 700 head, -of wethers and ewes, and their competition also tended to firm tho market. All classes of ewes-sold well, and were rather firmer than at .the previous sale. The range of prices was:—Woolly wethers, 19s. Ud. to 255; 3d.; ehorn wethers, 14s. 4d. to 19s. 5d.; woolly ewes, 15s. lid. to 235. 6d.; shorn ewes, lis. 4dl to 18s.; woolly hoggets, 17s. to ISs. 9d.; shorn hoggets, 135.; woolly merino wethers. 16s. 3d. to 19s. 3d.; shorn merino wethers, Us. lid. There was an entry of 248 head of fat cattle, of fair average o.uality. Steers formed a. laTger proportion than of late. There was an irregular demand, though prices showed practically no alteration, and any passed lots were afterwards sold privately. Steers made £7 ss. to £11 55.: extra to £15 155.; heifers, £5 15s. to £9; and extra, to £13 55.; and cows, £4 17s. 6d. to £9 12s. 6d., equal to 275. 6d. to 325. 6d., medium -245. to 275., cow and inferior 20s. to 235. 6d. per 1001b. There was a fair yarding of store cattle, and an improved demand, fifteen to eight-oen-months sorts making 455. to 585.: twoyear steers, £4 to £4 !Ss.; two-year heifers, £3 to £3 155.; three-year heifers, £4 10s.; four, to five-year steers, £6 45.; four- . year steers, £5 25.; dairy cows, £3 10s. to £8 55., extra, to £11. There was a large entry of fat and store pigs, the supply being in advance of requirements. The salo was thcrc/ore lacking • in. briskness, and prices were easier. Choppers sold up to 6C«.; heavy baconers, 475. 6d. to. 555.; and lighter, 40s. to 455., equal to. 4d. to 43d. per lb.; large porkers, ,275. 6d. to 325.; smaller, 225. to 255., equal to . 4d. per . lb:; medium stores, 14e. to 18s.;-smaller, Bs.;to 125.; and weanera, 3s. ,6d. to 7s. Telegraph.—Press Association.! - Dunedin, November 16. • -Burnside stock market:—Fat cattle: '148 were' yarded, a fair proportion being medium and heavy-weight bullocks. At the start of tho sale prices: were about 15s. per head lower than last week's rate, and, before the close, bullocks had declined fully £1 per head. Best bullocks sold up to £13;' extra, to £14 10s.; prime, £10 ICs. to £12; lighter, £8 15s. to £9 ICs.; best heifers,- to £8 15s:; - extra, to £9 55.; good, £7 to £8; lighter, £5 10s. to £6. Fat sheep: 1520 were penned, consisting principally of good to prime wethers and ewes. Prices opened from Is. to Is. fid. oasier than last week's rates, but improved slightly as the sale advanced. Prime ■ wethers made up to 275.: extra, to 30s. 3d.; Rood, 225. to 245.; best shorn wethers,- to 21s. 9d.; good, 17s. to 195.; best ewes, to 255.: extra, to 29s- 3d.; good, 13s. to 225.; medium, 15s. to 18s.; shorn ewes, to 17b. 9d. Lambs: 350 were penned. This was. a larger yarding than usual, and prices -declined fully Is.-per head. Prime, 15s. to • 16s. 3d.;. extra, to 20e.; good, lis. to 14s. 6d.; light, 9s. 9d. to 12s. fid. Pigs: Young pigs were plentiful, but prices for good sorts wire well up to last week's rates. Porkers and baconers met with a brisk sale, and advanced about Jd. per .lb. Suckers, 7s. to 9s. 6d.; slips, Us. to 155.; stores. 18s. to 255.; porkers, 325. to 355. Cd.; baconers, light, 38s. to 4Ss.; heavy, 455. to 58s. GRAIN. ' The local stocks of oats are now much reduced, and as a better inquiry has been received of late, values have improved. Primo Gartons are in most favour, but all classes are readily disposed --of to shippers and for local feed. Prime milling is quoted at 2s. Id. to 2s. 2d., good to best feed, Is. Hid. to 2s. 2d.; inferior to medium, le. lOd. to Is.. Ud. The wheat market is quiet, but prime lots of velvet 'are readily disposed of. Yelvet Ear and Eed Chaft" is in fair demand, but Tusacn is very difficult to quit: Best whole fowl wheat is also in fair demand, and moving oif. in small lots. Primo velvet is quoted at 3s. lOd. to 45.; prime velvet car aud Tuscan, 3s. 6d. to 3s. 7d.; medium Tuscan,. 3s. 4d. to 3s. 5d.; best whole fowlwheat, 3s. 2d. to 3s 3d
