Messrs; Dalgoay and Company, Ltd. (Palmerston North), report:—At our Palmerston North salo on November 10, wo had a small/ entry oj sheep and a very good yarding of cattle. Although • cattle were easier in. prices, we managed to quit the majority .of. lines, at ,prices-as below:— Empty heifers,'£3 3s„ £3 14s. 6d. to £4; empty cows, to £3 10b. ; bulls, £3 10s. to £5 10s.; 2-year steers, £3 19s. 6d. to £4 lis.; cows and calves, £4; 2i and 3-year steers, to £5 Is. A very nice, lino of 90 15-months Horeford-cross steers .realised £4 25.; and a lino of 113 6teors sold at £5 : 7s. 6d. Sheep: Shorn ewes and lambs, all counted, I*- .■-.:...■ .... '■■:_■ Mr, Nowton King's weekly report is as follows:—On Wednesday, November 2, I held my annual bull fair at Stratford, when there was a good entry of serviceable bulls. Tho demand was good through'out, and practically everything sold at tho hammer. Two-year pedigree Shorthorn bulls made' £13 to £17 65.;. 2-year grade Holsteins,-up, to £14 15s.;'do. grado Jerseys, £7 ;10s. to £15 ss.;'do.-grade Short'horn, £7 to. £10; yearling" Shorthorn, £4 to £10 103.;. Jerseys, up to £10 155.; pedigree Ayrshire, £16 16s. On November 7, I held a clearing'."sale of' heifers and sundries, on account 1 of- Mr.- \V. H. Gyde, of Cardiff. Springer's; close up, made £6 10s. do £7 55.; later do., £3 to £3'. ss;: heifers, at profit, £14 ss.;''mixed yearlings;' £2 2s. 6d.; yearling bulls, £4; aged- bull, £7; gelding, £9' 10s:: .disc harrows. £6 2s. 6d.; dray, £9; gig, £8 155.;" sundries; ■at usual rates. At my springing heifer sale, at Stratford, on November 8, there was only a fair entry, and prices were a trifle easier than previous sales.
