"TO SHOW CAUSE."
A COUNCILLOR AND MUNICIPAL SUPPLIES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Ounedin, November 1 A summons has been issued calling on Mr. J. B. Chacklock, a member of the City Council, to show cause why he should not forfeit his seat on the council. The ground of the summons is that he consigned and supplied certain goodsthree ranges and ciiuck of.the total value of JC2S 14s. to the council—contrary to the provisions of the- Municipal Corporations Aot.. The date of hearing has-not yet been fixed. It is stated that proceedings may be taken against other councillors, who are said to have supplied goods to the counoil.
