After an exciting search amongst the roofs, the police arrested a man named King, who was found hidden under a heap of rubbish in Gaunt and" Company's jewellery warehouse. . According to tho man's story, he secretod himself in the London Supply Stores, and thence, after a fruitless attempt to open a safe, which ho had partly forced, made his way to Gaunt's. The accidental breaking of a pane of glass roused the caretaker, who brought the police. , King has only been a few months in I Australia. B"o claims a remarkable career I of burglary in England and America.
