RAILWAY CONSTRUCTION.
COMPLAINTS -OF WORKERS.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ■ Westport, October 28. The ,men engaged' on construction work on the; Westpor.t-Inangahu'a railway complain that they have bean paid only Bs. 6d: per day, instead of the 9s. they state they were led to believe they would be: paid. They ,also state., somo of the men on the co-operative contract work made little over wages, and. have had tho rate cut down.6d. per yard, an action they'consider is unfair to them. The Westport Labour "Union is-in communication with the Minister for Public Works on the matter.
