CIVIL SERVICE SPORTS CLUB.
The fifth annual meeting of the Wellington Civil Service Amateur Sports Club was held at tho Y.M.C.A. Rooms . last . evening, Mr. A. Marryatt presiding over an attendance of about twenty members.The annual report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. The balancesheet showed the club's finances to-be in a very satisfactory position, there being a credit balance of 9s. 4d., an ' increase of .£1 Hs. 7d. on the previous season. The membership at the present time stands' at 76, .thereby indicating that 34 new members were eleoted during the year. About ten new members were proposed and elected last night. . It was decided to ask the Wellington Centre for the last' Saturday in January as the date for the sports meeting. A. committee consisting, of the secretary and' Mr." G. H.: Tanner was appointed to approach other sports clubs with a view to arranging to hold sports meetings every other Wednesday ovening. It was' felt that if such could .be arranged it would give a decided impetus to amateur sport, as weir as. serving keep the competitors in form for the important' meetings. '. A vote of thanks was accorded all who provided trophies and otherwise assisted the club'during the year. It, was,'.unanimously., decided ,to elect Mr. W. A. Woodger, champion sprinter of Australasia, the first life member of the club.
■ :It was resolved to award the secretary, Mr. L. A. Teutenberg, an honorarium of three guineas in recognition of his services on behalf of the club.
: About eleven of the rules were altered or amended.

Centre N.Z.A.A.A., Messrs. E. A. Dawson ,andW. Auld; hon. timekeeper,' Mr. H. Barr; handicapper, Mr. J. W. Heenan; auditors, Messrs. P.J. M'Covern and H. L. Levestam.
