; -.-ITS'STRUGGLE'IN i It is reported that the National Retail Grocers' Association, U.S.A., at its annualmeeting adopted ;a; resolution opposing the 10 cent' tax on oleomargarine. ' This is what the \ editor of the "New England, Grocer", says:—"We have always contended that bntterine is very much superior" to• poor or - even-, butter •of a medium, grade, and so, too, we would much rather'eat-bntterine, but even undqr such, circumstances .'■': we prefer to know what we'are buying, and what wo are eating.". ... '.-■■. \-'.' ■ On the other hand, "Hoard's Dairy-man"-says:—"This is all the manufacturers of butter ask, namely, that oleomargarine shall be" sold and;served as oleomargarine. "< It', is their, belief that, in order, to' accomplish this oleomargarine must be denied 'the right to be coloured yellow.' -It • can be' ■ sold ,in its natural colour or coloured pink- or green, but not yellow,.,for that is the trade mark of butter. , .'Oleomargarine that is artificially coloured yellow"is taxed 10 cents a.pound, and the natural ' coloured oleo- 1 margarine, only- one-fourth cent." i-. _;■ . - : \_ THE SHOW SEASON. ; A TABLE OF, DATES. !
