WEST AUSTRALIA EXCITED. By Tolegraph-Press Association-Copyright. Perth, October 24. Tho finds of "gold ut Bullliifch are'causing unprecedented excitement. It is generally agreed that Bullfinch is the best mine in the world. The shaft is down GOft., and a lode has been exposed to. a width of 18ft., averaging 1G ounces to the ton. Another shaft is down 100 ft., exposing a lode of 16ft.; averaging seven ounces to the ton. In consequenco of tho sensational richness of the lode matter in the Bullfinch leases, 25 miles north of Southern Cross, as reported to the press by Mr. Doolette, the lease-holder,' tno West Australian geologist (Mr. Maitland) inspected tho field early in the month. On his return to Perth, in a pross interview,, he admitted that the Bullfinch looks the richest surface show ever found in Western Australia. I took samples in both these shafts, and when the assayer supplies the results I shall bo prepared to say more about tho mine. 1 am. not surprised at the development. There is evidence of limitless potential mineral wealth over an onormous area in the west. The two shafts referred'to are No. Vdown 100 ft., in ore 25ft. wide, and alleged to bo worm 240z. per ton. No. 2 shaft, punk toe water, at 50ft, is in lode matter, .alleged' to be. worth 250z, per ton." ' A later message stated: "A.parcel of 200 tons of ore from', the Bullfinch mine, some distance out of Southern Cross, has just been treated at tho battery of tne Associated Northern Company, and gave the splendid yield of 15310z. odwt. of gold, or an average' of 7oz.l3dwt.3gr: per ton."
