- ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. Havana, October 23. Major-General Pino Guerra, commander of the Cuban Army, narrowly escaped assassination when leaving the Presidential Palace at Havana. He received a shot in one of bis legs, tbo -wound boing rather serious. A sentry wounded the general's assailant, who was captured. The. would-be murderer proved to bo a member of the secret police. ,
