CEREMONIALS AT THE SCHOOLS. Witt reference to the celebrations in connection with Dominion Day (Monday next, September 26), the following circular has been addressed by the secretary'.. of the Wellington Education Board to the chairmen of school'committees 1 and head teachers':— ; "I am directed to inform you of the desire of the board that the schools of this district should participate in the celebration of Dominion Day, Monday, September l 26.. Throughout the Dominion it has been arranged to hold «n that day a uniform • celebration. The chairman reqnests that the scholars meet as usual on that day, that at 11 o'clock the school be assembled to salute the flag, and that the rest, of the day be. observed as a holiday. Lithe afternoon the cadets of Wellington and suburban schools take part in a review at Newtown Park.- The head teacher of each school below ""grade 111 is requested to be good enough to inform the chairman of his committee of the'proposed arrangements.: It has not been possible to, make earlier announcement of the form of the proposed celebration, and, in the case of many of the remoter schools, the' circular would not reach the chairman iof committee in time to. permit, of the necessary arrangements being'made by him;".';
