Tho deputation took particular exception to the fact that no provision is made for the representation of the Waihi Borough Council upon the proposed K-iv'ei , Board; the clause- recommending a moro equitablo distribution of gold duty between borough and ( county, and-to the clause recommending 'that the cost of maintenance of more of .the Pacroa-Waihi main road bo thrown upon tho borough. Sir Joseph Ward said he had read the report attentively, and legislation was now being drafted, and when the draft was rcr ceived the representations made would bo very fully considered. A great deal was to bo said for tho plea for represnntation upon tho River Board. : - Ho was glad tho borough was prepared to accept the share of the expenditure allocated to it, Tbo recommendation that there should bo a redistribution of the gold duty was an important one, and ho would not like to , , express, an opinion on it off-hand.
