PERTH TRAM STRIKE.

A warm debate has taken place in the State Legislative Assembly over the Perth tram strike-and. the subsequent trouble. Tho strike arose through the men, demanding that the Tramway Company , should pay higher wages' than the Arbitration Court had awarded. Several Labour, members denounced the arbitrary action of the police when the trams, wore restarted. Mr. Holman declared that the wholo trouble had been caused by the police under the direotion of Commissioner Hare, who wanted to rovengo himself because the Labour party had years before secured his suspension. \ The Premier, Mr. Moore, said he regretted that tho Arbitration Act had not effected all the good that had been expected. The Court had settled a number of minor disputes, but, the great industrial disputes which had occurred had teen settled by private mediation. . ■ ,
