KARORI AFFAIRS.
-.The Knrori, Borough Council met: last evening. -.-Present the -.Mayor ijMiv C: I. Dnsent) and ' Councillors Cathie, Raine, Walmsley,' Wolliug, Hildrcth, \ Bum, Wedde, and Stnnden. It was agreed ■ to utithorise a transfer to the City Council of a strip ofn land on which it intends to form a'right-of-way between tho Knrori Bond and the Karori tramway; Mr. H..-.11. IJryden 'wrote in reference to the formation:, of Wallace..Street. He. would consent to theprosecution of the work, and waive- all claim to .compensation, provided the council carried out certain specified works on his property to his satisfaction. The Mayor remarked that none of the owners whoso properties the rood Was entitled to compensation, but the engineer hod prepared .a formal; agreement which they were required to sign.- It was .resolved to notify Mr. Dryden that the council declined to accept his conditions, and that the'-work would be deterred until he. had signed tho agreement. •.'•■'•
