NEWTOWN PASTIMES CLUB.
The Newtown Pastimes Club held, a smoke concert at the. club's gymnasium, Douglas Wallace/Street, last evening. Portion of the entertainment took the form of boxing bouts, the contestants showing, a pleasing degree of skill. The "star" item was a bout -between two amateur feather-weights—Thompson,. nn ex-navy man, and Tunn, who was stated to have been feather-weight amateur champion of England in MB. ■ During tho intervals songs w ; ere rendered, by members. -Sir. Richards, the instructor, announced that it was the intention to hold these functions .once a month.
