The Hons. Thos. .Mackenzie, ■ R. M'Kenzie, and a large number of Caledonians all over tho North Island havo written expressing their intention _to bo present at the Wangajiui-Caledonian Society's banquet on August 26.

The Wanganui Agricultural Association has decided to make a new .departure in dealing with ..exhibits of fat sheep for killing, at shows. These will »9t be killed .on the ground as heretofore, but will bo judged in the pens, prizes awarded, and the sheep then killed and frozen at Wanganui Freezing Works. They will then be consigned to the London agents as soon as practicable aftor tho show, and 6old on. owners' account. The net proceeds will be handed to the owner with a detailed account of tho sales and roturns, and frosh awards will bo made oil the results.
