APATHETIC RATEPAYERS.
THE .£IOO,OOO LOAN CARRIED BT 37.. Out of a total number of 10,872 ratepayers entitled to record their votes for or against the proposal of the corporation to raise n. .£IOO,OOO loan for the duplication of the Wainui water main, only 1595 (about 14 per cent., roughly) mustered uj energy enough to go to tho poll yesterday. Of these, 8-llj decided for the proposal, and 749 cast their votes against it—a majority of 97 in favour of the loan. Details of the polling are as follow;— Booth. Lhr.
