FRONT-DOOR LETTER-BOXES.
. CORRESPONDENCE AT BREAK, FAST. _ The Chief Postmaster of Wellington' is receiving a good many applications for front-door Tetter-boxes, which are to be made an essential.in every building, commercial or residential, in the city. . Within a few days the postmen will bo provided with .samples of let-ter-box plates (with flaps), which thoy will submit to householders and aftho same time quote a price for fitting tho same. The Post Office officials are gratified at the support that is being accorded them iu the matter, and point out that the more people who have let-ter-slots fitted in their doors, the earlier will mail deliveries become. There is an idea in the back of the Secretary's head that private correspondence should be delivered in time to bo read at t!he breakfast table—a delivery before 8 a.m. —but that would be impossible without the letter-slots.
