THE ACCESSION DECLARATION. A PROPOSAL REJECTED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Rec. July 24, 5.5 p.m.) London, July 23. There was a lively debate in the House of Commons on the Regency Bill, over Sir C. J. Cory's amendment to include the Accession Declaration among the oaths taken by the Regent. He that it was more important that the Regent should make the declaration than the young Sovereign.

Mr. Winston Churchill deprecated thrusting crudely and bluntly into the Regency Bill a declaration which the House recently decided by an enormous majority it was undesirable for any Sovereign to make at the present time.

The amendment was rejected by 123 to 25, and the Bill read a third time.
